AIKANE 56'

This AIKANE 56 is a truly exceptional multihull, designed by none other than VPLP, whose designer and first owner was also the designer of the highly acclaimed SWITCH 51. AIKANE is the culmination of this experience, with a much more sophisticated construction by Gil Carmagnani's GC Marine Consulting yard in Trinidad (80kg/m3 foam sandwich and numerous carbon reinforcements); carbon chimney mast, textile rig, compression beam and glass-carbon composite bow beam... The fittings and decoration were designed by Couedel et Hugon and carried out in Brittany under the direction of Didier Ragot (second-in-command to Olivier de Kersauson), who was also in charge of construction supervision.
The boat's silhouette is superb, its performance at sea remarkable (both in terms of speed and comfort), the interior layout splendid and the equipment abundant. All the electronics are very recent, all the electrics have been redone and brought up to 2022 standards, and the boat is in magnificent condition, totally ready for her new program. One of the best opportunities on the world market (visible south of France).

OWNER'S COMMENTS
The entire electrical circuit was rebuilt, with replacement of all the wiring and installation of two Balmar 90A alternators, a Victron 5000 inverter + Victron 3000 inverter/charger (back-up in case of failure of the 5000). All electronics replaced: Furuno DRS4D NXT radar, Vesper Marine AIS, Rom computer arranged with MaxSea TZ NAVIGATOR and radar modules + weather routing. A second autopilot installed on carbon support (Raymarine arm, NKE electronics), Xpro Defender tender 2022 + Suzuki 9.9hp engine 2023, refit and technical inspection of mast, genoa furler change 2022 (Profurl), textile rigging replaced in 2018 (The boat remained dismasted afterwards for 3 years), lopolight masthead, lazy bag replaced in 2022, all cleats reinforced with carbon fabric underneath, large cool box replaced by Vitrifrigo refrigerator, all saloon and cockpit fabrics new (sunbrella), teak cockpit slats redone in 2023, large carbon cockpit table with single “wing mast” foot + small wooden cockpit table with ice maker. 2 Moorings: Rocna 33kg + 80m diam 13 chain + textile, Delta 45Kg new + 100m Limousines Grade 70 HR chain + 8-strand textile. Dessal completely overhauled. All through-hulls replaced.
